今回は留学について書こうと思います。
前の記事で紹介しましたが、
2015年9月～2016年6月までバルト三国のリトアニア国立シャウレイ大学に交換留学していました。
大学に入った時から海外に住みたい、留学したいなーと思っていました。カナダかマレーシアという選択肢がありましたが辛い食べ物や文化が好きということと費用が安い2014年2月にマレーシアのマラヤ大学に語学留学をしました。
大学の補助もあり、1か月寮つきで航空券も含めて12万でできました。
マラヤ大学の寮でマレーシア人の女の子と一緒に住みました。毎日朝と夕方にお祈りを隣でしているのは本当に新鮮でした。その子のお母さんにもいろんなところに連れて行ってもらいました。
また日本語を勉強しているマレーシア人にもたくさん会いました。おうちにも招待してくれて本当にうれしかったです。
なによりもよかったことは、一緒に留学していたメンバーも初めて出会う人たちが多かったですが、みんな破天荒で面白くていまでも付き合いがずっとあります。そこで出会った先輩がリトアニアに留学するということもリトアニアにした理由のひとつです。
本当にマレーシアは楽しかったのですが、マレーシアを長期留学先としては選びませんでした。
理由としては、①暑さ ②食べ物です。笑
暑さには強いと思っていましたが、毎日太陽が強くて日焼けをたくさんしてしまいこれが1か月以上続くのは耐えられないなと実感したからです。ｗ
冬生まれなの寒いほうが楽かなと気づきました。（このあとリトアニアでは寒い寒いとなりましたが笑）
食べ物はアジアの辛い食べ物が大好きなのですが、好きすぎて毎日ナシゴレンやトムヤムクンなどと甘いジュースの組み合わせで生活したら1か月で5キロくらい太り見た目も帰国してかなり変わりました。この時が人生で一番太っていましたww
これもあって東南アジアの暑くて食べ物が美味しい国は留学したらダメだ！
と思うようになりました。
そのあと、トルコかヨーロッパのどこかで迷っていましたが
やっぱりみんなが行くところより知らないところに行ってみたいなという興味から
リトアニアはどうなんだろう？と思い、
地図上でどこにあるのか調べてみると、めっちゃ上！笑
北海道より経度が高いのかなんて寒そうだなーー。
あとは杉原千畝さんの漫画を小学生のときに読んでそれで知ってるくらいでした。
ですが、その先輩にリトアニアはどうですかー？とメッセージしてみると、
とてもきれいな自然の風景（山がない、地平線が続く）とじゃがいもが安いというメッセージが送られてきてこんな素朴なところなんだ、行ってみたい！という気持ちになりました。それで応募することにしました！
これがシャウレイのメインの湖!5月頃は最高です！
今でもこの風景を思い出します。将来は自然豊かな場所に住みたい！
もう１人マレーシアに留学した女の子も、同じような考えをもっていて私と相談しなかったのですがたまたま同じリトアニアに応募したんです！
そのあと一緒に合格することができ、手続きなど準備を少しだけしていました。
その頃は寮に住んでいて、そのまわりでも、同じ時期に
カナダ、フランス、ノルウェー、スペインなど周りで留学に行く留年組が多かったので
みんなでわくわくしていました。笑
リトアニアのことは調べたりしていましたが
本当に情報が少なくて先輩の報告を読み漁り、風景に魅了され笑。
住むシャウレイも十字架の丘は有名だけどそれ以外の情報がそんなに見つからなくて
youtubeや先輩のFacebookで情報を得ていました。
リトアニア語が公用語ですが、英語が通じると聞いていたのでとくになにもせず。。
とかいって英語の勉強も忙しくてしていませんでした。
As i wrote in prvious post, i was in study abroad at siauliai university in 9.2015-6.2016 in Lithuania.
I will tell how did i decided to study abroad in Lithuania.
When i started my student life, i had been thinking about to live in foreign country and study abroad it was kind of my dream.
In 2014, i got first chances to do for a month, there were 2 opttions, canada or malaysia.
Since i like asian spicy foods and culture,I decided to apply to malaysia.
Futhermore, there was financial support from my university it just cost 120,000 yen including airplane tickets,dormitory fee,English language school.
I shared one room with malaysain girl,same age with me and majors in medical science.
She is very kind and prays everymorning and evening.it was really interesiting for me.
And her mom took me many touristic places as well in weekend.
And i met many malaysian people who is learning japanese languages.
I was invited one of house and really happy that time.
What is the most amazing thing is to have met japanese friends who went together with me.
They are really crazy and funny and we still keep meeting up!
And one of member, he might go to lithiuania to study. it was one of reason i decided to go lithiuania.
I really enjoyed malaysia however I didn't choose malyasia as long study abroad.
The reasons are ① weather ②foods.
First, I noticed that its difficult for me to live with hot weather everyday so strong sun, i got burned a lot. Oh maybe it better for me to live in cold country...actually it turend out not true after i experienced lithuanina winter))
Second are foods. I do really love asian foods, because of that i eat a lot everyday with sweet drinks. That made me got weight 5kg and I became different girl)) Then I said to myself, " maybe not in south asian countries with hot weather and super tasty foods" After i'd been thinking turkey or some european countries.
However I wanted to go different places that not so many people go. How about lithiuania? and Where is lithiuania?? I started checked map, " Oh that's higher than Hokkaido" And i know Lithiuania about sugihara chiune.
After texted to my member, how is Lithiuania?? He sent me amazing landscape and told me, " Potato is super cheap!!' then decided Lithiuana 🇱🇹 another girl of malaysian member she also applied Lithiuania 😉
